Suchandrika & Friends Present: Doomscrolling
Doors: 7:15 pm - 9:00 pm
Opening acts: Charlotte Evans and AMEXA (Steph Darcey)
FYI Larry David will not be appearing at this event, but Elmo might.
Former journalist and ex-professional doomscroller, Suchandrika (Writer for Have I Got News For You, Funny Women ‘One To Watch’) tries to explain the news to her niece (5) through character comedy and props, then speculates about the future (because no one can say she’s wrong).
‘Fun company for an hour’ List
Sold out at Camden Fringe and VAULT Festival.
Praise for previous work:
‘An utter joy’ Guardian
‘Leaves you with a smile on your face”★★★ ★ Theatre and Other Things LDN
‘Comes across as warm and wholesome, contrasting with some of her sneakily dark and political humour’ BingeFringe
As seen on NextUp Comedy and heard on BBC Radio 4.
Charlotte Evans is an up-and-coming stand-up comedian with a freewheeling approach to the truth, which has often landed her in hot water. She spent 3 years trying to convince people that she was Boris Johnson’s illegitimate daughter and her debut show “Charlotte Johnson: My Dad and Other Lies” was dubbed “batshit” (Politico) and “delicious” (The Scotsman).
Steph Darcey (aka AMEXA) is an actor, writer, singer & comedian. Steph recently performed her debut comedy show ‘Prototype’ (a 60 min political comedy about AMEXA: The Robot Politician) at The Camden Fringe, for which she received multiple 4.5-star and 4-star reviews, as well as a London Pub Theatre Standing Ovation Award nomination. ‘Prototype’ has been described by reviewers as a ‘must see’, and ‘an original and deeply layered satire’ (London Pub Theatres). ‘Like all the best satirists, Darcey makes us think deeply, even as we laugh’ (The Peg). ‘The acting from Darcey is first class.’ (Fringe Review). Earlier this year Steph wrote for and performed in the world’s longest running live comedy show NEWSREVUE, (the topical sketch & musical comedy show), at the Canal Cafe Theatre. Her training includes character comedy & improvisation at The Groundlings in Los Angeles (notable alumni include Will Ferrell, Melissa McCarthy & Kristen Wiig) as well as The Actors Class, London & The National Youth Theatre.
