Folk & Roots Present Grace Smith Trio + Archie Churchill-Moss
Doors: 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm
Wielding the distinct voices of fiddle, concertina, and double bass, The Grace Smith Trio cast dynamic, expressive, and reactive musical forces into a dialogue between these three individual yet like-minded musicians. Sam Partridge and Bevan Morris join Grace in forming this engaging new folk ensemble, through which the audience can expect to be immersed in a sound world where ideas become reality forged by bellows, bow and bass.
Widely regarded as one of the best players of English Traditional Folk, Archie Churchill-Moss has worked as a session musician for some of the UK’s top folk acts and producers, as well as performing with the trio, ‘Moore, Moss, Rutter’ – the outfit which saw him receive the coveted BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award in 2011. With a contemporary approach to composition and arrangement Archie has developed a style of playing that draws as much influence from the tradition as it does modern popular music. he is currently seen to perform with: ‘Tom Moore & Archie Moss’, ‘Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys’ and ‘False Lights’.”
