Barabás Lőrinc »
Trumpet player and producer, Barabás Lőrinc has for some time been a mover and shaker of the improvisational music scene in Budapest. Over the past decade his club events and bands provided fertile ground for kindred spirits experimenting at the crossroads of jazz and electronica. He has shared stages with the likes of Thievery Corporation, Bonobo and Erik Truffaz.
His solo project blends dance grooves, meditative moods and many interesting 'shades' in between. On stage he juggles keyboards, trumpet, effects, laptop and a loop station.
The live performance is a journey through unexpected but enlightening contemporary tribal landscapes.
Nina Harries »
Trained in classical music at the Royal College of Music, London, Nina Harries is a soloist who uses only her double bass and renowned singing voice to create ground-breaking performances.
Her original songs take influence from cabaret, Bjork, Mogwai, opera, Andrew Bird, Mitski and Joanna Newsom, and her work unapologetically dismantles worldwide preconceptions about the double bass as an instrument, the roles of women in performance and the idea of what a modern musician should be.
In 2017 she was awarded a grant by PRS Women Make Music Fund to record her debut album.
Along with breaking new ground with her instrument Nina is also a feminist writer and comedian, incorporating this into her performances.
In 2017 Nina joined the Akram Khan Company, to perform as Double Bassist and Vocalist in Akram Khan’s critically acclaimed final solo performance, XENOS which toured internationally throughout 2018 and 2019. https://www.ninaharries.com
